Visual Art Exhibition 2024
Step into the Limelight, the Territory’s creative and performing arts showcase event for public schools, began in 2007 and has grown to become the largest youth Arts event in the ACT. More than 1800 students from over 65 public schools, will work closely with their teachers, professional artists, tertiary institutions and arts organisations to develop outstanding artistic works for two events.
The aims of Step into the Limelight are:
- Promote ACT Public education through the Creative Arts.
- Showcase a range of quality art works inclusive of all school sectors.
- Provide enriched learning experiences for students.
- Provide quality teacher professional development through collaboration.

Our Time
The Step into the Limelight engages with schools from across the Education Directorate to celebrate our students and the arts in 2024. This year's productions will incorporate students from diverse backgrounds showcasing the incredible work that is taking place in our ACT public schools. Through visual art we will take audiences on a journey showcasing the talents of our ACT students.

Art Exhibition: Wednesday 24 July to Sunday 4 August at the M16 Artspace
Artwork call out for print and digital advertising
Open to all schools and students. Images of artworks to be used for exhibition promotion. Submit images to Limelight@ed.act.edu.au by 19 May (T2 Wk4)
Artwork Registration for Exhibition
Open to all students. Artworks from each school which document the very best of what students can achieve. No greater that A1 wall space total for all submitted works. Artworks due by 16 June (T2 Wk 8).
Isabel Matthews Scholarship announced. Exhibition is held at M16 Artspace
