Percussion Ensemble

The 2021 Percussion Ensemble will commence rehearsals on Tuesday February 16 from 4.30-5.30pm

The ACT Percussion Ensemble was formed in 2012 to meet the demand for places for percussion players in IMP system ensembles.

It contains about 20 members from years 7-12 in ACT Public Schools. Students need to audition in the round with the auditions held in Week 6, Term 4 (November). Students in the percussion ensemble may also be part of the Junior and Senior Concert Bands.

They perform specially arranged music for tuned and untuned percussion with students accessing a variety of instruments owned by the IMP.

The ensemble learns to play a range of musical styles and it is an opportunity for students to develop specialty percussion techniques.

Dates and times for rehearsals  - 4.30 - 5.30 pm each Tuesday during School terms.
