The ACT Percussion Ensemble was formed in 2012 to meet the demand for places for percussion players in IMP system ensembles.
Percussionist and IMP teacher, Jacinta Dunlop, coordinates and leads the ensemble. It contains about 20 members from years 7-12 in ACT Public Schools. Students need to audition in the round with the auditions held in Week 6, Term 4 (November). Students in the percussion ensemble may also be part of the Junior and Senior Concert Bands.
They perform specially arranged music for tuned and untuned percussion with students accessing a variety of instruments owned by the IMP.
They rehearse every Tuesday during the school term from 5.00 - 6.00 pm at the IMP rooms, Kaleen HS.
