Bandstravaganza
IMPACT presents an annual concert to showcase the achievements of the Year 6 Band Classes during the year, and to present the Primary, Junior and Senior Concert Bands as role models for the younger performers. The involvement of Year 6 students in this event is not optional. BANDSTRAVAGANZA '08 will be the twenty first such concert.
To cater for the large numbers of students involved, BANDSTRAVAGANZA is held over two nights with over 500 students taking part on each night.
Dates and Venue for 2008 - Llewellyn Hall at the ANU School of Music Tuesday November 25 and Wednesday November 26 The organisation for BANDSTRAVAGANZA begins some 14 months before the scheduled performance date. Associated schools are divided into 2 groups that are designed so as NOT to attract northside/southside comparisons or any other possibility. Students from one of these groups are auditioned as members of Primary Concert Band (Monday) and the other group provides members of Primary Concert Band (Thursday). For details of this breakdown, click here.Each group is further broken down into three items for each night's concert. These are items 1, 2 and 3. Item 4 is a performance by the relevant Primary Concert Band; Item 5 is a performance by the Junior Concert Band; Item 6 is a performance by the Senior Concert Band. (Refer to the System Bands page if you need more information about these concert bands.)On each night the concert begins at 7:00pm sharp and is usually finished about 9:00pm.
Tickets - Available from Monday November 10 from Ticketek and their agencies. All seats $12 - can sit together as no specified seating. Phone and internet tickets/booking incur extra fees. See below for agencies in Canberra area. You do not need to buy a ticket for your child who is performing. They will perform then move into the gallery area with their class teacher.
